Overview

The majority of fields in any of the catalogue formats are free text entry data fields. These are displayed in the Add Item form like this:

The size of these fields varies according to the length of data that is expected.  For example, the item description fields are displayed with multiple lines as the data entered is often greater than 50 characters, whereas price fields are shorter because they do not need to contain the same volume of information.
